YEAR 6 CAMP (22ND-24TH APRIL 2024)

Beautiful Camp Mapleton on the Sunshine Coast was the destination for the Year 6 camp. Students spent three days challenging themselves and pushing beyond their comfort zone to try new activities such as Rock Climbing, Giant Swing, Abseiling plus much more.

School Camps offer many benefits to students. Camps build community and students have an increase in connection. Camps also develop positive feelings and memories around school and the outdoors. Learning outside the classroom supports the development of healthy and active lifestyles, offering opportunities for physical activity and promoting a sense of well-being.

Here are a few ways IAS students enjoyed Camp-

“The giant swing was my favourite activity because I got to see a really nice view and got a really nice breeze in my face when I was swinging.” Paige

“I enjoyed the flying fox even though it challenged me and pushed me out of my comfort zone.” Caleb

“Camp was good because even though some activities were intimidating and scary, it was fun doing them.” Christian

“The activity that challenged me most was the rock climbing because my arms got tired and sore but my friends and teachers encouraged me to keep going.” Khalees
