YEAR 1 FIRE BRIGADE VISIT (22ND JUNE 2023)
Firefighters from the Brassall Fire and Rescue Station paid a visit to the Year 1 class to talk about fire safety.
Students were enthralled as they listened to Fireman Tom teach them how to be safe if in a house fire by getting down low and finding a safe place to go. Students learned the number to call if there is a fire – 000 and to stop, drop and roll if their clothes are alight. Fireman Tom also explained the difference between good fires and bad fires.
Following the safety talk, students were able to have a turn holding the heavy hose and spraying water onto the oval, having a tour of the fire truck, listening to the siren, and being a firefighter for a day.
